Each week, you are receiving a brochure that covers different aspects of the new translation of the Roman Missal. Please read everything carefully so that you have a basic understanding of the changes and the reason they will occur. As you read the translation, you will notice that most of those changes that affect the congregation are in the Creed. Therefore, you will find that when the changes are implemented, you will need to rely more on the Breaking Bread books. The last Sunday of November will be the First Sunday of Advent. That is the day when the changes will officially begin.
Thank you for your help in the cemeteries. With the help of those parishioners who generously volunteered their Saturday, once again, they are neat and tidy looking. There is still time to have your loved ones remembered in the Masses during November. Please see the All Souls Day envelopes available in the Churches. Use the envelope to write the names of the deceased and they will be included.
Please join the community next Sunday for One ‘Ohana. Attendance in October was great. This month, we will be learning more about the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Everyone should be ready for the Community Reconciliation Service on Wednesday, Nov. 23rd. Come to update your knowledge and understanding of the Sacrament, enjoy time with others in the faith community, and be a witness to the Faith.
Don’t forget the Parish Mission or Parish Renewal. We are all given this annual opportunity to re-examine our spiritual lives and reaffirm our commitment to the Gospel. See the schedule in the bulletin.
For several months, we have been working to transition our system into a new automated Diocesan financial system. The purpose is for all parishes to input financial information and receive uniform reports from the same system. The good news is that the transition was completed last week. We will now be able to share accurate financial reports with you. For those who are interested in our Capital Campaign results the diocese has reconciled their reports and will now produce an updated, accurate report for us. Also included in this week’s bulletin and on our website is the parish’s quarterly report.
Peace in Christ,
