This Sunday, we return to Ordinary Time. The jubilant celebrations of Easter, Pentecost, Trinity Sunday and Corpus Christi are over. During this liturgical season, we now turn once again to the challenging work of plumbing deeper into our own spiritual lives in order to grow in the love of God and live the gospel message.
We are beginning a period that has been greatly anticipated in the US Catholic Church. This month, Catholic Churches all over the country are beginning to learn the revised translation of the Mass. We will learn several different responses and there will be some differences in translation of the service music we sing every Sunday. Although we begin this catechesis in July, the actual words in the revised translation will not change until the First Sunday of Advent which will occur on November 27th. We will do it together.
