There is a notice in the West Hawaii Today this weekend, stating that we are beginning the bidding process to select a General Contractor for the Church, Administration Building and Rectory. The Church is requiring a Request for Qualifications which interested contractors can examine by appointment with Richard B. Leander, Jr. ending on April 8, 2011. In this week’s Gospel, John tells us another story. It is the story of the man born blind. This Gospel is about seeing. Again, this story leads us into a point beyond that of physical sight. True, the man’s blindness is cured but his sight in this story relates to his faith. It is a story of From Darkness to Light. Even those in his own community missed the message and so they were unable to see the deeper meaning of his cure. Let us pray this week that as part of our preparation for Easter, we may all be open to seeing the goodness of God in our daily lives.
