Our Golf Tournament drew parishioners and members of the Kona community to a day of serious playing and hours of fun. We now focus our attention and spirit of community on the next event which is the Knights of Columbus Valentine Dance. Put on your dancing shoes and join us on Saturday, February 12th at the King Kamehameha Hotel to enjoy an evening of dining and dancing.
Father Joseph Badding will be joining us at St. Michael’s for the month of February. Many of you will remember Father from his stay with us two years ago. Welcome Father once again because he is anxious to participate fully in parish life while he is here. Father Louis Cameli and Fr. Mike Zaniolo will once again be vacationing in Kona. Both will be celebrating Masses and Fr. Cameli will speak at the Liturgy Training on February 19th.
On February 25th, Father Armand M. Nigro, S.J. will arrive from Spokane to present the Retreat on Prayer. The Retreat will take place from February 28th to March 3rd.
Amid all the activity of life, Jesus reminds us with His disciples that we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. You have all heard Sam Choy say on his cooking program, “Let me sprinkle a little salt on this to wake up the flavor.” As salt and light, we are sent forth to bring glad tidings to the poor and to be in solidarity with all the peoples of the world.
Help us, Lord, to be salt and light for Your kingdom.
