The butterflies in our place of worship continue to remind us of the metanoia, or the change that has taken place in us as a result of the sacrifice and prayer we offered as part of our individual Lenten journeys.
Alleluia, the Lord has risen! The faithful attended both the Triduum Services and the Easter Masses in record numbers. Over five hundred people attended the Easter Vigil where we lit the new fire; listened once again to the story of our history as a people of God; blessed the Easter water; renewed our Baptismal promises; welcomed nine people into our community; and celebrated the Paschal Mystery.
Again, I extend my deepest gratitude to all who contributed in any way to making the 2010 celebration of the Easter events a profound spiritual experience for the Faith Community. You have all shown that our simple tent can be transformed to inspire as well as any magnificent structure in this country.
The butterflies continue to remind us of the metanoia, or the change that has taken place in us as a result of the sacrifice and prayer we offered as part of our individual Lenten journeys. Like the rest of creation, each of us has been made new through recommitment to our Baptismal vows.
On this Sunday, we focus our minds and our hearts on reflecting about the abundant Mercy of God. In all things, we remember that we are dependent on the Divine Mercy of a God who loves us. —Fr. Lio
