In this world of ours, there are competing values, priorities, economic levels, disparities in social status, political affiliations, racial differences, etc.  There is but one place we can all come together regardless of these differences, that is at the table of the Lord. God nourishes us with the precious gift of the Body and Blood of His Son, the Word made flesh. He freely bestows this gift on us through the Paschal Mystery. Side by side, we line up to receive the Eucharist; rich and poor, black, white and brown, male and female, married and single. No distinctions are made. In return for this great gift, all we are asked is to take this Jesus, in the fullness of His divinity and the wholeness of His humanity, to a world in need of love.   Eucharist is central to every theme of the social mission of the Church.
